My personal statement of faith. In early 2007, a friend came up with the idea of creating personal statements of faith, and I thought, hey thats a cool idea. Well, its a cool idea, until you start digging into it. All of a sudden, things get quite complicated pretty fast. As such, for now, its a work in progress, and lots of blanks are yet to be filled in.

Yep, my range is old, probably 30-40 years or so.... But, its cool, it has features which are no longer available. First, is the dual voltage speed heat burner, and second is the burner with an integral temperature sensor called a temperature minder.

These are amazing, radios, and a must have as part of ones go kit for Emcomm. While admitedly most hams take a dim view of the FRS/GMRS radios, they are common in disaster response. Thus, having a set of these, in addition to ones emcomm rig, can provide yet another way of providing communications.

The fuel pressure regulator control module is the funky purple box on the drivers side strut tower. Eg, this is probably something really simple, and it can't be rocket science to reverse engineer it. Chances are if it died it would be $$ or some really insane price.

I'm a tech plus, although the plus doesn't mean much since the morse code requirement was lifted in Feb 2007. I've been a ham since 1994, and although I have some old AM gear which needs a lot of restoration, I've never done much more than use 2 meters.

I have blogs scattered all over the internet, and it can be a bit of a bear to find things. Thus, I created this master aggregator page, so they are in one place. I signed up for mybloglog, and in setting it up, went whoa.... I'd have 10+ blogs, and that could get pretty confusing, so say nothing of the fact, most are so specialized, I doubt I would get much traffic off myblog log. As such, I'll have that link here, and then as I write, new articles will automatically be presented.

1) So your engine has that familiar lifter tick that sounds like someone is inside it with a hammer. Inside the lifter is a small check valve that is leaking, the oil inside the lifter leaks out. When you start the engine up the oil pressure pumps the lifter back up and the ticking stops.

First, we need to change the base url by removing &baseurl='+escape(location.href.substring(0, location.href.lastIndexOf('/') + 1)) and replacing it with a ' otherwise, should anyone click on an item, it will go to your blog, and give you a 404 error, ie page not found.

I will slowly be building categories here, as I compile my work from a multitude of places, both on my hard drive, as well as off the web. Maintenance Maintenance is key to keeping your car running. My 21 year old S12 has over 500,000 miles. One of the ways I was able to do so, was meticulous and intensive maintenance. While this checklist is specific to the S12, it could easily be modified to work with any vehicle.

Spices Spices have a finite shelf life, and they degrade over time. Shilling and McCormick both state that their spices are good for 2 years, and they date code their packaging. Being I'm transitioning to home grown spices, as well as buying them at Rice and Spice, I needed to date code my spice bottles. The fuel pump is controlled by the EFI/ECCS module, typically known as an ECU. It not only turns the fuel pump on and off, but also controls the speed/pressure generated by the fuel pump by varying the fuel pumps input voltage. So, I went ahead and setup Skype Prime as a tool to check out. Of course, being this is so early in the Beta stage, things are still in flux. One of the things they have are custom buttons. Here is mine for Flight Instruction. However, I really don't like that graphic, so, decided I'd try to do my own. The trickiest part was and is the graphics. Here are a couple I am looking at using.

The S12 talks to you!!! Which once a person is used to it, its actually pretty cool to be told lights are on, door is ajar, brakes are on, or fuel is low. The system is pretty robust, and the voice is not robotic by any means. The typical failure mode is a bad stereo installation, as the entertainment system audio passes through the voice module on the way to the speakers.
